Blog - Unit 3 (McDonaldMobley)

On a scale of 1-10 I would rate my...

Spiritual Wellbeing: five

...because I have been focusing most of my time on my psychological wellbeing.

Physical Wellbing: three

...because I am a bit overweight due to poor diet, lack of excersise, and hormone replacements from a hysterectomy.

Psychological Wellbeing: eight

...because I have been working with my doctors over the past year to stablize my mental wellbeing. I had a nervous breakdown a couple of years ago and needed to rethink my wellness... or rather actually think about my integral health. It is through this course that I am continuing my journey toward wellness.

I would like to develop a goal in...

Spiritual wellbeing by increasing my "me" time.

Physical wellbeing by continuing my efforts at the gym.

Psychological wellbeing by continuing to work with my doctors on my stablization.

In order to reach my spiritual goal I will need to put more emphasis on "me" time. I tend to put much greater emphasis on others wellness (mother, kids, husband) than I do on my own. This should change as I am not doing anyone any good if I am spiritually out of sync.

In order to reach my physical wellbeing I will return to the local recreation center with my family. My mom and sister go walking and swimming at the center at least three times a week. They ask me to go but I find a reason not too.

In order to reach my psychological wellbeing I will work with my doctors to continue medication to fix my lack of seretonin levels.

The Crime of the Century experience...

After listening to the The Crime of the Century, I felt safe. I do not know why they titled this excersise the Crime of the Century. There was certainly no crime in the feelings I received during the coloring excersise. I love the red feeling of safe! Orange meaning confident and centered... while he was saying that I could smell oranges! I do not know why but I did. I love love loved this one!

Great new tape for me to meditate with. I am looking forward to next weeks! :)

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog! I am having a great time working with this new technology -well new to me. I wanted to share with you my experience during the relaxation experience. I found it a little funny to begin listening to a relaxation guy with bong noises in the background so I got a bit giggly at first. As the experience went on, I found myself shutting out the sounds in the house and in my brain. I actually began to get closer to what I feel in "myself". I plan to utilize this listening technique each week to see how I develope my inner peace.

Sittin' On The Dock of the Bay

Nothing helps relaxing like the power of water! Hearing the sounds of a river sliding down the banks of a local river or smelling the fishy shores of Lake Michigan is so relaxing for me. I know that might sound a bit weird that a smell of a fishy shoreline would be relaxing but it is because that is what I grew up with. I have lived most of my life in Michigan and cannot even think about not having water around me. Places like Tennessee or the Dakota's would not be a happy and relaxing place for me because there is not enough water around. Why even in places off the coasts like California would not work for me because at some spots there is not a watering hole around for miles. In Michigan, there is a large body of water no further than twenty minutes away. I love that I can drive twenty minutes and be at a relaxing location of water to soothe my frazzled nerves.

Let's be active participants in our lives!

There is nothing more sad than to see a person who wallows in self pity. It is self pity and the lack of active participation in their life that keeps them stuck where they are. It is my opinion that those who are happy in life or would consider themselves "living the GoodLife" are those who are actively participating in their lives.
